Nicky Edwards

Director & Physiotherapist

Nicky is a chartered Physiotherapist, Pilates instructor and running specialist. She studied Sport, Health & Exercise at Undergraduate level at Durham University before going on to study at Masters level to become a Physiotherapist. Nicky spent her early career in a large London NHS teaching hospital, progressing up to senior level. She has also worked in private hospitals, her last role being the Clinical Lead in Hydrotherapy & Outpatients at The London Clinic on Harley Street before founding Chiltern Physiotherapy in 2008 with her husband Paul.

Nicky’s clinical interests are running biomechanics and injuries, especially female athletes and those going through menopause. Her new book 'The Female Runner's Advantage' is due to be released on 23rd July 2024.

Nicky has worked with the London Marathon, speaking at the 'Meet the Experts' day and on the Centre Stage at the Running Show. She speaks about how to prevent injuries, marathon training, female specific training, perimenopause and menopause as well as how to stay safe while running.

Nicky also volunteers for the charity Children with Cancer UK supporting over 1200 marathon runners to ensure everyone gets to the start line of the London Marathon every year.

Nicky lives in Chorleywood with husband and co-worker Paul, their 2 young children. Nicky is a keen runner, competing marathons around the world. She also plays hockey player for Amersham & Chalfont Hockey Club. She is currently training for the Berlin Marathon in September and the Chicago Marathon just 2 weeks later in October!
